Meridian Credit Union
Sarah Saso has recently joined Meridian Credit Union as the Director of Environmental, Social and Governance Programs. She is a certified Corporate Social Responsibility Practitioner (CSR-P) and recently earned a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Certification from Stanford University.
Sarah has held progressive CSR. Employee Engagement and Community Investment roles at HSBC, CIBC, Manulife Financial, and Green Shield Canada. She is a motivated change agent with a demonstrated understanding of, and appreciation for, complex corporate environments, as well as balancing community and corporate interests. She has worked with hundreds of charitable organizations and initiated and directed cross-sectoral collaborations in support of a myriad of health and social sector issues and challenges ranging from financial literacy, affordable housing, sustainable food systems and access to basic health care.
Being an engaged community member is important to Sarah and she continues to volunteer at several charitable organizations in her new community of Grey County. She has held Board of Directors positions with many non-profits and associations. Most recently, Sarah has been co-hosting the webinar series “Conversations on Purpose,” and joined the Investment Readiness Granting Committee at the Community Foundation Bruce Grey and volunteered with Eat Local Grey Bruce a farmer led co-op which creates a direct connection from producer to table.
