The Responsible Investment Association (RIA) is seeking 9 volunteers for the 2019 RIA Conference, and is also inviting 20 students to apply for RIA Scholarship Awards.

 

Volunteer Opportunities

Number of opportunities: 9
Deadline: March 22nd, 2019 (but positions will be filled ASAP so please apply early)

The Responsible Investment Association (RIA) is recruiting volunteers for the 2019 RIA Conference, which will take place in Montreal at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth on April 24th and 25th, 2019.  The conference is the premier event for responsible investment (RI) professionals in Canada, bringing together 500 delegates to engage with the latest topics in Canada’s growing RI industry.

Benefits & Eligibility:

By volunteering at the conference, you will gain experience in professional event management and gain access to industry leaders. As a volunteer, you will be given the opportunity to network with experts and influencers in the field of responsible investing. Volunteers will gain access to the conference and the RIA ensures that all volunteers are able to observe some of the sessions. Meals and snacks will be provided.

Volunteer opportunities are open to all qualified candidates, including students and non-students.

Social Media (2 opportunities available)

We are seeking two social media gurus to help manage the RIA’s Twitter feed and Twitter Wall throughout the conference.

Qualifications:

  • Avid social media user
  • Experience monitoring hashtags
  • Bilingualism is required (French and English)
  • Knowledge and interest in responsible investment and corporate social responsibility
  • Must be available 7:30am-5:30pm on April 24th, and 7:30am-5:00pm on April 25th.

General Support (7 opportunities available)

We are seeking seven energetic young professionals to help with general support, such as assisting with the set-up, registration, general operations, and note-taking throughout the conference.  

Qualifications:

  • Experience organizing events or conferences
  • Strong writing skills
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred (French + English)
  • Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced setting
  • Knowledge and interest in responsible investment and corporate social responsibility
  • Must be available 7:00am-5:30pm on April 24th, and 7:30am-5:00pm on April 25th.

RIA Scholarship Awards

The Responsible Investment Association (RIA) is offering Scholarships to 20 post-secondary students to participate at the 2019 RIA Conference, which takes place at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth on April 24th and 25th, 2019. The RIA Conference is the premier event for responsible investment (RI) professionals in Canada, bringing together 500 delegates to engage with the latest topics in Canada’s growing RI industry.

Benefits & Eligibility:

Scholarship recipients receive a registration providing full access to the RIA Conference, including meals & accommodations as needed for out-of-town recipients. You will have the opportunity to attend social events and network with industry leaders.

RIA Scholarship recipients must  be currently enrolled in a university or college program.
