Innovative Technologies to Achieve 1.5°C by 2030
There is a global consensus among climate scientists that, in order to avoid the worst impacts of climate change, we must limit the increase in global average temperature to less than 2°C – ideally 1.5°C – over the preindustrial era. Achieving this goal will require a tremendous reallocation of capital toward innovative technologies that are capable of reducing global greenhouse gas emissions by 45% by 2030. This raises big questions, including: What technologies are required to achieve 1.5°C? How do we unlock capital to scale up these solutions? Where are the opportunities for investors? In this session, we will hear from a leading portfolio manager and two innovative companies on trends and solutions that are needed to keep the planet to 1.5°C.
