The business case for women on Boards and in senior leadership roles is compelling: enhanced financial results, heightened innovation, and improved board decision-making are among the benefits that gender diversity provides. Yet in Canada, women now hold only around 15% of all corporate board seats and one-third of companies have no female directors. We have seen improvement in recent years – but we are far from achieving gender parity and the pace of change is underwhelming. What steps can companies take to achieve gender parity and enhance long-term shareholder value? What is the role that investors play in encouraging gender parity?
