Catherine leads RealAlts, a real assets investment consulting firm whose work spans global investment strategy, ESG and TCFD reporting, sustainable new product development, and corporate communications.
Since 2008, Catherine has led assignments for a wide variety of Canadian and global clients. Prior to her work in consulting, Catherine was Director of Research and Strategy, Real Estate at the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB); Senior Vice President and Global Strategist at LaSalle Investment Management; Associate Portfolio Manager at Genus Capital Management; and Assistant Portfolio Manager at the British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI). She has also worked at Aon Hewitt Investment Consulting as Associate Partner, Global Real Estate.
She is past Chair, Risk Management and Alternative Investments Committee, CFA Society Toronto; past Programming Co-Chair, Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) and past Treasurer of the Canada Green Building Council Greater Toronto Chapter.
Catherine is passionate about sustainability, and for this reason she is a co-owner of a small real estate development company that specializes in sustainable building and is now building affordable housing. In addition to her work at the Canada Green Building Council, she is a member of RIA, and a past member of the Town of Oakville Environmental Sustainability Committee. In 2016, Catherine’s sustainable garden was featured on the Oakville Horticultural Society’s Garden Tour.
Catherine holds the CFA designation, she has an undergraduate degree in Economics and Urban Studies from Queen’s University, and a Master’s in Economics and Finance from Simon Fraser University.
